We are a friendly group of all ages over 16, swimming each week under the guidance of our outstanding coach for a whole variety of reasons – fitness, improvement, mental health and fun!

Ilminster Swimming Club meets and trains on a Wednesday night from 1930 - 2030 at the Freedom Leisure Centre swimming pool in Chard - details on the 

We aim to swim every week, but with the odd week off in holiday periods.

Updates on Club news, Changes and Notices

  • This year's AGM will be held for members at The Shrubbery Hotel in Ilminster, at 1900 on Sunday 1 November 2026.

  • The club has reluctantly reduced its weekly swim time for October to January in order to try and maintain club membership fees at their current level.  So, from 7 Oct 2026 we will swim from 1930 - 2030.  All other details remain unchanged and this site will be updated once the changes come into effect.  We hope to return to a full hour and a half swim early in the New Year.  Come along for a free taster session and experience our uplifting sessions for yourself!

  • We are having our usual break over Christmas, and so will not be swimming on 23 and 30 December 2026.​​
